Lots of talented TV performers got to take home shiny new trophies this year, like Homeland's superb Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, and the always hilarious Julia Louis-Dreyfus forVeep. And while I think the Emmys and Golden Globes mostly get it right with who they choose to honor, I also think they routinely miss some truly stellar TV performances. So this list includes 16 standout performers who didn't get any awards recognition in 2012, but who brought their A game to the small screen week in and week out.

Chrisley Knows Best 2014

Description: NEW YORK (AP) — On camera, the family on USA's "Chrisley Knows Best" has briefly addressed son Kyle's second-season absence, saying he's "going through a difficult time." Off camera, the drama is much more intense. Heading into next Tuesday's season finale, patriarch Todd Chrisley said his 24-year-old son is off his medication for a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and is estranged from the family. Kyle confirms he's not taking his medication but said he has seen a new doctor who questions his diagnosis.
